Released on April 12, 2005 through Island/Def Jam Records, The Emancipation of Mimi is Mariah Carey's tenth studio album and one of the most celebrated comeback stories in pop music history. The multiplatinum blockbuster produced era-defining hit singles including "We Belong Together," "Shake It Off," "Don't Forget About Us," and "It's Like That," cementing Carey's return to the top of the charts and earning Album of the Year at the 2006 Grammy Awards.
Now celebrating its 20th anniversary, The Emancipation of Mimi has been reissued on double vinyl LP with an exclusive new bonus track making its vinyl debut: "We Belong Together (Mimi's Late Night Valentine's Mix)." This is the definitive collector's pressing of one of the best-selling albums of the 2000s. And for Mariah fans, this album is the holy grail of her modern catalog. Encapsulating it freezes that peak 2005 "Mimi" era in pristine, uncirculated condition forever.
