Product Description

Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing. Drummer Tony Williams was a frequent Blue Note presence in the 1960s and returned to the label in 1985 eager to form a new acoustic band as a vehicle to perform his compositions. 1986's masterful release, Civilization, featured his great '80s quintet with trumpeter Wallace Roney, saxophonist Billy Pierce, pianist Mulgrew Miller, and bassist Charnett Moffett. This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition is stereo, all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes.

What it is: Alliance Authentic preserves the records that matter most to collectors and fans.

Why it matters: We protect condition, verified authenticity, and documentation so a record's meaning and integrity endures over time.

How it works: Alliance Authentic encapsulated records are sourced through Alliance Entertainment's licensed distribution network, pulled directly from the manufacturer in uncirculated condition, and encapsulated to preserve that state. These are commercially released records, acquired before they reach retail, authenticated for condition and origin, and preserved by Alliance Authentic in a state most copies will never see.
