Waxwork Records presents the Get Out Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, scored by composer Michael Abels. Written and directed by Jordan Peele, Get Out (2017) won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and earned nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor for Daniel Kaluuya. It marked the feature directorial debut of Peele, a lifelong horror devotee, and the film scoring debut of Abels.
This deluxe double LP features the complete score alongside exclusive liner notes by Jordan Peele, in which he recounts his first meeting with Abels and the creative vision behind the music: "I envisioned distinctly black voices harmonically creating an unnatural sound. The absence of hope. The void of the voiceless. A disembodied Negro spiritual. The Sunken Place."
Pressed on 180-gram black and white splatter vinyl, the release includes new artwork by Leslie Herman, a printed insert, and an old-style tip-on gatefold jacket with satin coating.
An encapsulated copy of Get Out lets a collector preserve one of modern horror's most culturally significant soundtracks in exactly the state it left the pressing source, sealed against time.
