Composed by Ludwig Göransson, the score to Sony's 2018 Venom arrives on a striking 'Black Clouds' pressing: crystal clear and black marbled 180-gram vinyl, housed in a deluxe gatefold sleeve with a soft touch and silver foil finish, and individually numbered to just 1,500 copies. Göransson brought the same visceral energy to Venom that earned him both a Grammy and an Academy Award for his work on Black Panther, also directed by Ruben Fleischer. His credits span Tenet, Creed, Creed II, and production work for Childish Gambino, Travis Scott, and Adele, including Gambino's landmark "This Is America."
The film follows journalist Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy), bonded to an alien symbiote that grants him extraordinary abilities. A massive box-office hit, it launched Sony's Spider-Man Universe and led directly to the 2021 sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage.
For collectors, an encapsulated copy of this pressing locks in exactly what made it worth owning: the original, factory-fresh pressing in the state it left the plant, permanently sealed and protected from the handling, humidity, and time that quietly degrade even stored records.
