The 5th anniversary edition of Sling, the 2021 sophomore album from Clairo, released July 16, 2021 via Fader and Republic Records. Written and recorded in upstate New York, Sling reflects on parenthood and intimacy, marking a lush, genre-blending evolution from her debut Immunity.
Co-produced by Jack Antonoff, Sling features standout singles "Blouse" and "Amoeba." Clairo told Vogue that "Blouse" was the last song written for the album, in March 2021: "I wanted it to be the first song people heard off the record because I feel like it requires the least amount of context and describes an experience that I think a lot of people can understand. It's an experience I didn't necessarily wanna talk about but I didn't feel like I had a choice."
An encapsulated copy captures this album exactly as it existed at the moment of release, preserved as a physical artifact of an era in Clairo's career, making it a meaningful piece for any serious collector of her work.
